lalala

yes. the dreaded summative 1 is over. i am now a free woman!

well, for one day, anyway. the studying for the next summative (countdown will be up soon! count with me! woohoo!) starts...tomorrow!

yeesh.

anyway, i am gonna go home now. i'm hungry and sleepy and i really feel like eating more of that philadelphia cream cheese my mother bought yesterday. yum. cheeeeeese. *drools*

there will be a much better entry later in the day. in the meantime, my new concern is for nanowrimo. i still don't have a plot. so. i shall make full use of my 10-people readership and ask you...

any ideas for a plot???

*grin*

gah. gaaaaaaaah!

i have no internet connection.

no "real" internet connection anyway.

you see, my father got pissed at tmnet for their sucky streamyx service and kept calling them about it and told them that he's paying for round-the-clock connection and only getting 12 hrs worth.

which is true.

so, he said that they'd better give him a discount on the bills or else he'd just cancel the subscription. and the dudes at tmnet said they'd do that.

really. honest. cross their hearts and hope to die. stick a needle...you get the idea.

and so my father didn't pay the bills. for like, oh, i dunno, 4 months.

and now, the account is suspended and i'm typing this while keeping one eye on the bloody blinking dsl light hoping it'd stay on for just 5 minutes more.

gaaaaaaaaaaah!

i have no plot - "i am shallow" day no.3

yes, i have no plot. i don't know what i'm gonna write in 50,000 words. i'm starting to panic more for nanowrimo than i am for the summary i should have written yesterday but am still no where near completing it.

minishorts even has a separate blog for her nanowrimo activities. turns out some other malaysian nano-ers have come together for the whole nanowrimo experience.

and i don't have a plot.

which is why i turned to my favourite teen drama series, "one tree hill" and "roswell", for some inspiration...and ended up googling for pics of my two fave tv characters for this week's edition of "i am shallow" day.

i think this is gonna be the last weekly "i am shallow" day. simply cuz it's not every week i feel shallow. sometimes i feel quite intelligent, really.

anyway some of you may have read my predictions as to what might happen in season 3 of that delightful show, "one tree hill". seeing that i could deduce all that whole load of crap just from one tv show, i might get some inspiration out of my two fave guys on tv after all.

i'll need it. i don't watch much tv these days. even my darling csi has been neglected. sigh. =(

alright, on to the hotties.

jake jagelski - bryan greenberg
jake jagelski - bryan greenberg
from bryan-greenberg.com

while other girls were drooling at nathan or lucas, i was enamoured by jake.

jake is the sweetest ever! he was lucas' friend when the rest of the bball team ganged up on lucas, he looked after his daughter, jenny, after his ex-girlfriend abandoned her with him, and he was the only light in peyton's eternally miserable life.

sigh.

too bad he was an irregular on the show. sniff. more in season 3 please!

michael guerin - brendan fehr
michael guerin - brendan fehr

michael guerin, from "roswell", is the first ever tv character i had a crush on. it wasn't so much his looks (jason behr aka max had the puppy-dog cute moody look perfected!) as it was michael's character that really got me.

he was insensitive, brash, witty, intelligent, and most of all, he adored maria. even when he didn't really show it, he absolutely adored the girl. now, who doesn't like adoration, huh?

anyway, here's some of the classic things he said:

max: so did you and maria officially break up?
michael: i thought so, but the more she says, the more confusing it gets. she wants space, but she still wants me in her life. all i know for sure is i'm not getting any. let's grab a burger.

hardy har har.

...

well, maybe i can come up with a "one-tree-hill-meets-roswell" kinda thing. and michael and jake could erm fall for the same girl! and then maria and peyton could bash 'em up or find out they're really sisters because their father, an alien, inseminated their mothers!

ooh ooh!

and then...jenny could have some kind of magic powers or something. you know, ala jack-jack of "the incredibles"?

i am on a roll here!

*note: please excuse the writer. she is obviously not herself today.

on the threshold of fulfilling a dream

i think it was in kyels' blog that i left a comment stating what i wanted to do in life. one of things i listed down was "write three books".

at that time, my idea of "three books" was, well, perhaps medicine-related stuff.

maybe something chronicling my mission/medical work around the world.

or you know, a college textbook i will make minor changes to every year and release it as a new edition so i can make money off students who would have to scramble to take note of what's new in case Professor I.M. Ewell decides to test them on those minor changes.

however, it didn't occur to me how close that dream of writing three books could be, until i received this email:

one of those days

i actually wrote a nice long entry about my first cd - why are my posts music related huh? i wonder - but something happened and i lost it all.

gah.

i guess it's just one of those days.

anyway, the first cd i ever bought, at age 12, with money saved from sacrificing recess and my fortnightly dose of smash hits for 8 weeks, is...

ost - evita (1996)
evita

...and it represents independence (self-bought cd, tau), self-expression (i chose it over backstreet boys), responsibility (it's the first thing i can say i really owned), and transition (i was 12, going on 13...big girl liao).

remember those 4 points ok? it will come out for your first summative, which will carry a weightage of 15% of your eos examinations. got that?

there you go. the shortened version of my originally 500-word entry which had references to september 11th, the assasination of john f. kennedy and glasses of wine, in case you wanted to know.

it's late. i'm sleepy. i'm pissed at whatever happened which caused me to lose my lovely entry which i worked on for 15mins and wanted to post before midnight. sigh.

just. one. of. those. days.

nite.
